What are the common errors while creating Amazon bulk PPC campaigns?

Error 1004 – Failed to create ad group [Ad Group Name], [Number of Ads] ads were not created

Resolution: This error occurs when the ad group could not be created, and thus, the ads associated with it were not created either. Double-check that all required fields are filled in correctly for the ad group. Once confirmed, resubmit the file to try again.

Error 1005 – Failed to create campaign, [Number of Ads] ads were not created

Resolution: This happens when the campaign cannot be created, meaning its associated ads are not added. Ensure that all required fields for the campaign are filled in (such as name, budget, etc.), then resubmit the file.

Error 1012 – Duplicate row at position [Position]; first row was processed, and all other duplicates were ignored

Resolution: This indicates that your file has duplicate rows. Amazon processes the first instance of the duplicated row and ignores the rest. In this case, no action is needed as duplicates are automatically ignored.

Error 2201 – Incomplete header, or bulk file is not in .xlsx or .csv format

Resolution: The system doesn’t recognize the file header, which could happen if the file is missing campaign details or is uploaded in an unsupported format. Check that the file includes all required campaign information and is in either .xlsx or .csv format, then resubmit.

Error 2203 – Unknown campaign: [Campaign Name]. This campaign does not exist in your bulk file or within your account

Resolution: This error occurs when the referenced campaign does not exist. You’ll need to create a new campaign by adding a campaign line in the bulk file with the necessary fields:

• Campaign Name

• Campaign Daily Budget

• Campaign Start and End Date

• Targeting Type

• Campaign Status

After adding this, resubmit the file.

Error 2204 – Unknown ad group: [Ad Group Name]. This ad group does not exist in your bulk file or within your account

Resolution: The ad group being referenced doesn’t exist. To create it, add an ad group line with these fields:

• Campaign Name (from an existing or newly created campaign)

• Ad Group Name

• Max Bid

• Ad Group Status

Then resubmit the file with the updated information.
